Except for your link, I see no listing for 50cc planes on their web site, or for anything larger than 30cc.

Status: offline 		Haven't you guys heard,    there is no    USA  warehouse.      Another poster went by there and only found a    Postal Service Business.  

I personally wouldn't spend   $467 on a Hobby King  product.    Especially with their  lack of Customer Service.

Status: offline 		There IS a USA hobbyking warehouse. I have bought stuff specifically from that warehouse location.

Im also interested in this Spitfire. Retracts are available from the international store for $155. Compared to the ESM 50cc spit, this is a bargain. Total price WITH retracts is less then just buying the ESM from whatever dealer(LIKE TROYBUILT) when including shipping in either instance.

            There is a full review of this model on several sites. The one here http://www.ytinternational.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=424 is from the UK. There is a review on the  Warbirds forum on RC Universe but cannot find it at the moment.


               It goes together well and flies well according the the reviews I have read.

Unfortunately, the plane you linked to is not even close to the hobbyking 89" spitfire. The one in your link is 110" and is 1/4 scale. The HK spitfire is 89". Different airframe all together. The only similarity is they are both Spitfires. The HK spit has plug in wings, your linked spitfire does not....one piece wing....etc, etc.

Im sure that one is a nice plane, but Im not going to pay 1200 british pounds for it either(which is 1940 USD)

Status: offline 		 HK crap customer service is enough to keep me away from sending themn any more $$$.   Not to mention that allot of thoer products are complete utter junk.   Buyer beware.  Be aware.  IMHO spend your money some where else.  might be more expensive some where else but at least you will have a chance to enjoy your purchase.

Status: offline 		Always there is someone with an axe to grind. This is a thread about the plane, not someone's distaste of the company that sells it.

I for one have spent many thousands of dollars through hobbyking and not ever had an issue with customer service. Others havent been as fortunate.

Anyway...you dont wanna buy the plane fine, but this isnt a bash hobbyking thread...go do that somewhere else.

Status: offline 		I ordered the retracts for this plane to see how well they are made and whether they hold air, etc. If they seem good, I'll probably buy the plane eventually. Ill report back about the gear once they arrive.....but that could be several weeks from now.

Ummmm....you do realize that 99% of the warbirds and many of the civilian planes sold on ytinternationals site are MADE by ESM. Those same planes can be purchased here in the states from vqwarbirds and troybuiltmodels.

There are a few larger size single engine planes in the 96" range or so that are also sold through easytigermodels.

Yes your somewhat correct. Some of the models are made by ESM or their sub contractors..... but not all. Unfortunately for me the planes I was interested in, were not made by ESM and not available over here. I learned this by calling the three stateside distributors directly.

Status: offline 		Like i said...most warbird and many civilain planes offered on yt's site are made by ESM. Note that I was specific on the types of planes I referencing. I did not include the electrics or jets in that statement which are listed generally separately on yt's site. As I stated not, all but most. There are a couple of the planes in the warbird section made by VQ and a couple large ones offered through easytigermodels here in the USA.

Which plane(s) are you interested in on yt's site? Myabe I can help you locate it.

Yellow Aircraft has a highly pre-fabricated 101" at-6. Maybe this would work for you:

Have you tried emailing YT international and seeing if they'd either ship you the plane you want or if they know of a distributor that will or is located in the US?

What I meant by a distributor was someone carrying the SAME plane that YTinternational has, but here in the US. YT is not a manufacturer. They do not produce anything. They buy the planes in quantity from a vendor and them sell them to the public. So...its possible that a company here stateside could sell that same plane if they had a distribution agreement with whatever manufacturer actually makes them. This is the same case with ESM planes. In England, YT is the ESM distributor, but not here in the US. That is handle by troybuiltmodels and then VQwarbirds is a reseller

Highly unlikey though that there is a reseller here in the US for that particular 101" AT6 since its not the most popular plane especially in that size.
Here in the US...there are many KITS such as Zirolli and Byron

However, there are several somewhat smaller AT6's you could get. CMP has an 82" version. Topflite has a 69" version.

Seagull has a really nice one at 82" as well and its not expensive at all:
