Hi all,

Lately I've had a few requests to make up some new Twin Air .45 kits. So, I've been thinking about it and it is possible to make up a run of short kits. These would have everything in the kit that isn't a stock stick or sheet piece of wood the builder would supply their own sticks and sheets. I'd like to get a feel for the number of people seriously interested in buying these kits. These would be the Mark II models with plans and manuals and all cut parts, screws, control horns, and wire. The target price is $125/short kit + S&H.

Take Care,
John

I was thinking if there were enough interest/orders I'd get them done in November or early December (in time for the holiday season).  I'm used to doing these kits in 100-200 units at a time (minimizes changes in equipment and setup for the different parts).  I'd like to get up to at least 10 kits before I start the kit run.

Someone else emailed directly asking about foam wings vs build-up wings.  That's possible also but I'd like to keep the variations to a minimum so if everyone prefers foam to built up etc. it would be good to know.

I believe that I would like to have one so put me down for one.

Northeast Aero do you remember if you ever had a sort of a display model of the Twin Air 20 that was covered in yellow with short stubby black, red and silver stripes angled back from the leading edge and powered by OS32SX's? I bought it over the net and it flys absolutely great if you can see it as it is a a little bit FAST.

I would be interested in two of the short kits...especially at that price break!

Hope you do decide to do this.

When it happens: Do you take Paypal? It not, where do we send the money?

Don

PS: I vote for built up wings.

Well there seems to be enough interest in getting a kit run made.  Now I have to start dusting off the equipment I saved and see if everything still works and prepare to get started on the kit run.  These will all be built-up wing types per the response above.  I was also planning on these being the single tail version.  If there is enoug interest in the twin-tail version I may make up a few sets of that tail type but there will be an up-charge for this.

If everthing goes well, I plan to start around Nov 1 and run till the kits are ready to ship.  On Nov 1, I'll create a list of everyone on this thread who has indicated the want a kit, or two, and give people a chance to change their orders while I get started cutting the kits.   I'll get your real names, addresses, and phone numbers then.  I would hope to have the kits completed by the end of November but I've never timed a short production run with just one set of cutting/plotting equipment and 1 body doing everything.  Please remember that I don't do this full time any more and I have a real day job which gets in the way of a lot of flying  .  Some people have asked about the payment details.  The target price is $125 and I'm going to aim for that but if it goes above that I'll let everyone know (I don't buy balsa anymore at $5000 an order so I might not get discounts I used to get).  PayPal will be the preferred payment method + S&H (UPS to your door) + 3% to cover the PayPal fees.  For those of you who are opposed to PayPal then a Money Order will do just fine.
