After all of the unclaimed reservations were released and the people on the waiting list were offerred kits, I still have (2) Twin-Air .45 Single-Tail kits available on a first-come first-served basis.

Status: offline 		The missing plan sheet was mailed on the 3rd USPS First Class to everyone that was missing one.  The JPG was a stop-gap measure if you needed to see the plan before the sheet arrived in the mail.

The only engine out I have ever had is all of my years of flying twins occurs when I intentionally kill one engine in flight to demonstrate one-engined flight on a twin-engined airplane.  So know your engines, break them in with care, and try not to go for that last iota of rpm/power out of each engine.

As for the Twin-Air .45, it will fly on (2) 40 FP engines and is a monster (in a good way) on (2) .55 engines :-)

I posted this some ways back. "So I went shopping on Hobby King. Turnigy SK3 3542 1000KV, 5mm shaft, 625 watt out runner motors are $33.05 each from the USA warehouse. Hobby King Blue Series 50 Amp ESC with 3 amp BEC are $24.74. These should turn a 11X6 prop. Finally Turnigy 5000 MA 4S 40C Lipo packs at $49.99. If I buy 2 of everything I'm looking at $215.56. Pretty darn comparable to buying a couple of decent .46 glow motors. I'm really thinking about doing this. Anybody have any suggestions?" What would you recommend?

I was seriuosly thinking of going with electric on the Twin Tail.
Till i was talking to my buddy Mitch and  they are offering a twinsync system . So i figure what the heck .
I decided to go  with the O.S.46AXII . I have the motors fittied and i don't think you can put any larger power plant in this bird.
For those that know me i like over kill , these motors nest in there real nice.

I was wondering has anyone started a build thread ?
Once again thank you for offering  the kit John . She is almost done just need to do some final sanding and cover her.

please post some pics if you get a chance. in the bones and then covered maybe ? thanks.

Shapeing and fitting the motors in the nacells went pretty smooth. I would be more than happy to post some pics of the stage i am at now if thats ok with John. It would be great if others building there kits posted pics as well.

Here are a few pics of the nacelles. I would like to say they are past the roughed in stage but they still need finish work. I found mounting the throttle linkage as low as possiable worked great with this setup. I used the exterior tube of Sulivan rod and ran threw a solid rod then threaded the ends 2-56 no binding at all. The spinners are very close i was thinking of sanding the nose ring to make a perfect fit but i think i will leave well enough alone.

Status: offline 		I am at the point of joining the wings now, i looked in the kit to find the dihedral brace and was kinda shocked. it is only 2.75 inches long and another thing that concerns me is that both W1 ribs are made from 5/32 balsa. when we cut the opening for the brace this leaves very little in the top and bottom of W1. Are we relying on the top and bottom wing sheeting and one short dihedral brace to keep the wings from folding or coming seperated on this twin aircraft ? maybe im just not realizing the strength of the entire structure when completed in this manner. im at a standstill here until i get some input.

Status: offline 		Hello:  Regarding the wing center section strength.  Both the plans and the instruction manual specify that the wing center section is fiberglassed in the center.  I must admit that I was at first a little sceptical of the structure in the center.  After completing the plane (I have done two of the Twin-Air .20s as well)  the wing is certainly strong enough to get the job done.  Ed
