adamrs80 -> does anybody still make .30 class helis? (9/30/2012 2:36 AM)

I've been out of the hobby for a few years. I used to have a shuttle zx and then a jr venture 30. Ive been looking for a new .30 size nitro but I cant find any. Are there any out there that still have parts support? Is Kyosho done, what happened to hirobo?

You will find the current Century Hawk Pro with the new OS37 to be a very capable and easy to set up for gentle flying at lower head speeds for training or higher head speeds for more agressive aerobatics & 3D.

They also offer a number of very nice scale fuselages for them.

+1 on the Hawk Pro - Great all around 30 size heli.

Thunder Tiger Raptor 30 is still available. Now, I have a question for you: after 2 - 30 size nitros, why are you looking for a 3rd one? For a few more dollars you can get a 50 size that is just a little larger (uses the same 30 size frames) and will have almost unlimited power. I rarely suggest 30s anymore.

What kind of flying are you interested in?

Here is one flying 3D...you will note that it as a similar (but improved) control system to your previous Shuttle ZX:

or if you prefer scale:

I also feel you should leave the 30 alone and go to the 50 size.   They use the same body with a longer tail boom.   There is also a lot more 50 size to choose from.
Hirobo is still out there and they make a very nice helicopter,  I have two and I like them both.

The 30 Raptor is available with lots of replacement parts and is a tremendous machine for learning.

+1 for the Raptor. Very stable and easy to fly.
