I've noticed some seals on bearing are black, and some are blue. Does this indicate anything? I ask because I was reviewing  the XRay NT1 2012, and XRay's website touted, "(the car) features high-speed, blue-sealed ball-bearings".

That got me wondering if there is a difference. Seems odd to tout the color since if not - especially because they are not readily seen (if seen at all unless you remove them).  ;-)

Thanks!

The color means nothing. If you buy bearings from AvidRC.com, you have your choice of seal color.

I got yellow the last time I ordered just 'cuz.

Really depends on the manufacturer... in the rc world, it really means nothing, but in the industrial world, each color is usually associated with the ABEC rating, what the seal is designed to keep in/out, or its material.

hmm seems the yellow=speed thing died out somewhat in the early to mid 2000's seriously would ALWAYS see ricers with yellow parts back then
