Hi Phil, great paint work. Have a question regarding the clear coat you use. I have tried many different approaches but never get the real flat effect. Could you please post the clear coat and the flattening agent and the proportions that you use.
Thank you
Misha

It will be interesting to see what Phil uses, but PPG Flexed 'N' Flat, DCU 2060 works great for flat finishes. You *must* be careful not to put it on too thick in one coat though or it will be too glossy. Multiple *thin* coats come out very flat.

Another Carf Ultra Flash arrived yesterday for an F-20UF 'Tigerflash' makeover. It's an old flash that has been converted to the ultra flash and now the owner wants it face lifted. As of today the final scheme has not been decided but it has been narrowed down to the following schemes.

Arctic Camo. Google the black diamond aerobatic team. Saw them practice at FL JETS last year. The MiG was fantastic.

Prep is the key factor is a repaint, as this model is being totally reprinted its a good chance to de seam the fuse also this aircraft has had it's tailplane bonded to the fuse so I am blending the two parts together. The model is rubbed down now and ready for a coat of primer. This will show up any faults in the model that needs to be address before the scale detailing is applied. I have noticed some obvious bits of flying and hangar rash so I have filled them before the primer, I have also given the seams a coat just to see if I have missed anything.

Enjoy the photos
