Bax, an enteristing question came up and I thought I should ask you. Why does a two stroke engine require 16% to 20% oil when a gas powered two stroke uses very little oil in the mix? Cooling is undertood but they both get hot. Does Gas itself cool an engine better the alcohol?

Gasoline has a some lubricating properties which help out; the RPM is usually much lower than a glow engine, so stresses upon the oil are lower; gasoline engines usually have roller or needle bearings in the lower con-rod end.

Glow engines have no lubrication except what the oil provides, and the alcohol in the fuel easily washes it out. You'll find that the larger, low-RPM glow engines don't need as much oil percentage as the smaller, high-RPM engines.
