Hello,

I recently purchased a new airplane that came equipt with electric retracts and I cannot get the retracts to work with my radio. I have tried numerous things to see if I can get the retracts to work and they will not work. As a last resort, I plugged the retracts into a friends' Spectrum receiver and the retracts worked with his DX7 transmitter. I have also been in contact with the supplier of the airplane who asked me to try different things with the settings, etc., but nothing worked. I have tried the following;

I tried a different Futaba receiver.
I tried different switch assignments for the retracts
I lowered the endpoints for the retract channel as suggested by the airplane supplier.
I increades the endpoints as suggested by someone here on RCUniverse.
I have plugged the retracts into different channels to see if they would work.
I started over with the airplane programming on two separate occassions.
I tried using a 4 cell NiCd battery to power the receiver instead of the airplane battery via the ESC.
I have tried using a new Y harness for the retracts.

In my last email to the airplane supplier, they told me they are willing to send me a new set of retracts at no cost, but I've seen these work. I know I am missing something obvious, but I cannot figure it out.

TIA for your assistance
David

I have a set of retracts I had retrofitted to Electric by Down and Locked. They have a controller card that the 3 retracts plug into so only 1 line goes to the receiver. They work fine with my 12Z. I'm using redundant a123 packs on the receiver.

Do you have to use 2 or 3 channels on the Receiver or do you have an adapter (Y or W) that lets you plug into one channel in the Receiver? What battery are you using on the receiver? I'm assuming it's the same battery that is running the retracts.

Bob

Since this was not mentioned in your post did you reverse the gear channel? Many ESCs require the throttle channel to be reversed on Futaba and I am wondering if electric retracts have similar behavior...

Moderator,

Please delete this thread. I lost the plane today so the thread is no longer valid.

Thanks

David
