I noticed the RPM numbers are off the chart. Max RPM for this motor should be 40,000. The downloaded data that is posted in the video above shows numbers at times that should not be possible. 3,000 to 175,000 RPM really?

I noticed the RPM is off the chart. It shows 3,000 to way over 100,000. Can that even be possible. This motor is rated to max at 40,000.

There is no way a 2850KV motor would be spinning at 100 k on a three cell, there is something wrong there. For the rpm to jump like that the ESC must be losing sync with the motor would be my guess, I'd be interested in seeing whats CC has to say about that data.
What is really weird are the two spikes in current one at 109 amps the second at 140...
Is that data from the last video run you posted?

Now my software is a bit older what happened to the castle graph view for data it a lot easier to interpret than the spreadsheet? You can export a jpg like this.

OK so I contacted CC again today. They hooked me up with Steve that specializes in airplanes. He said to go back a load an older version of the firmware. Version 3.27 and set the PWM at 8Khz and the timing to low. Tried this and holly sh.. it works. Full throttle with no crazy mode. Steve says that some of the more recent firmware has updates for helicopters and could me messing with my Himax setup. I can't say enough about how great CC is with their support and repairs. I have sent my cooked ESC's to them four times and they have fixed them all at no cost. I should have called them much earlier. Thanks to everyone for posted and giving support.

Arirapter - Thanks for the input. As soon as this 45 degree Michigan weather and wind breaks I'm going to go out and hit it hard. Thanks

This thread reminded me that I really ought to own a power meter for the few electrics I do have. So today I grabbed a PowerMatch unit, seemed to have the specs needed for the stuff I fly. Too late to be of any use here though!

MJD - Hope the post helps others with issues they may be having after upgrading the firmware and settings. Can't say enough good things about the folks at Castle creations. Great support and if you leave a message with them they respond very quickly with a call back. Like I have said in posts they have fixed my ESCs many times at no cost no questions asked. I will continue to buy their products for that reason. Also glade to see that you purchased the power meter. Nice to have a couple extra toys in the box.

I'm actually looking forward to the demise of the Funjet so the motor package can go in something a little more streamlined. That system is probably good for a bunch more speed in something with less frontal area.

No worries. Commander. Castle does a great job with customer service. Mjd when buying a watt meter look at the max amps it can handle as some of the normal ones only goto 75 amps and. Of super accurate there.
