I would like to know if anyone has had the same problem as me with the Multiplex Ultra combo. HC3514-2900 and Castle Creations LITE ICE 75 APC 6X5.5 pulling 60 -70 amps. When I power up to about half throttle the motor goes into what sounds like it is vibration or prop cavitation. Not sure if this motor ESC combo is truly compatible. As soon as that happens the ESC gets a high amp spike and cooks the ESC. I have bought a second of the same combo with the same results. Sent both motors to Himax and they have reported no issues with either. Castle creations has fixed both ESCs twice. Running SKY LIPO 3 cell 4400 40c 80c burst. MAX has updated instructions for recommended settings which I have tried. standard timing PWM rate at 16Khz. Spent most of this flying season trying to resolve this issue. (HELP)

take the PWM down to 8,00o or less. try the timing down at zero and and try again. also try another prop. On the strike type planes the APC GAS 1/2A 6x4 prop has worked very well on 3-4 cell packs.

I dont always fly inverted, but when I do, I do it down low.

Yeah, your esc is losing sync with your motor, that's what causes the noise.

Timing and cycle rate as low as possible, and work from there. High cycle rates are good on low rpm setups for smooth and quiet operation, no need for that on high rpm setups.

High esc cycle rates tend to load the esc more. High timing can give more power...but don't overdo it (you already knew that )

I used that set up at first but went to the following.
    Hobby King T3648-1450
    Castle Ice lite 100amp
    18.5v 2650 50c batteries
    APC 7x6 sport prop
The combo hits 160-165mph. Careful on the launch or it will corkscrew itself into the ground from torque. I launch with the wings in a 90 degree RH bank to give it more time to correct the torque roll on takeoff.
