We all know where Radcliff, Lowe and Brown are. What about Alan Dupler in this picture ? He used to fly with Slater, from Slater's Hardware south of Columbus, forget the town. Brown is holding his favorite brew from those days. Anyone remember which brand of beer it was ? Starts with an "S"

Someone else posted that picture once. The field is in Lancaster, OH. It's about 30 miles southeast of Columbus. I've been there. Nice field. Slater is the club Treasurer.

Strange their name is Fairfield Ohio Radio Kontrol Society.

Never seen the word Kontrol in English (in my country it is Radio Kontroll -two l though- but that is here in Sweden)

Could it be some connection to some Ohioans are descended from Swedish ancestors and the spelling got Kontrol
to get a little reminder if the connection?

Right Tony, couple of Strohs to get started in the morning. Dave and Sally had a V W camper, and don't know if he brought if over from Germany when discharged from the Army, or bought it up in Mass, before migrating to Ohio jogging my brain here. Later on, he bought a Dodge window van from a guy up in northern Ohio. Five or six guys with planes, flight boxes, coolers, clothes, etc., could pile in that van, tight squeeze, but made it. Harry Roe was along on some trips.

Its nothing that complicated. Its probably just so the acronym spells FORKS and not FORCS. Their logo is a flying fork.

Yes, it looked something like this, a Fedora, but I think, red and white checks, or some other design. Dave spent some time in Germany in the US Army before coming to Cincinnati.
A hat a fur-in-er would wear. Dave smoked a pipe back in those days............ joggin' my memory here. This one is closer to it, the plaid one.

Right Dave, now I remember, and my wife remembers it vividly. Stroh's labels. Maybe we can photo-shop one. Just spoke with Dave last week, he and Sally supposed to come this way soon, will see them if they make it.

My great grandfather came from Sweden and settled in Ohio, maybe he is to blame.
