Not an expert on German but it might stand for a heatresistant coating, I think some engines have it...

Mr Cox interesting I bought the plane ( no engine) wonder what he could have in it the former owner, the ship is a TT ARF so not likely it refers to the covering

I think the black crankcase of the HP gold head had it for instance. Might have been stickers in the box that came with the engine?

Hi,

According to Babelfish the direct translation is: THERMEX COATING

I think that Mr. Cox is correct also.

OK Guys THX for the research , looks like first owner may have had an HP in it

NOW just benched the 20 Kand B davis head 90-91F out there

12x4 wood XOAR 8500 the XOARS are designed as electric props

10x6 wood zinger 9000

10x4 wood XOAR 12000

10x5 wood MAS 10500

idle on 10x5 2300 instant pickup to WOT in all cases
Hand flips 2 to5 after finger choke
needle 2 1/4 out
compression half turn off bottom

Fuel Davis 1/2A not much smoke, quiet, dark honey color on oil out the exhaust a p**y cat to handle

Plastic APCs would likely give higher Revs

in all cases idle less than 2500

Absoluely correct -
"The Gold Cup series have a special black thermex coating to dissipate heat and are available in both ABC and ringed versions. "

Martin,

The K&B sportster 20/28 were two of the best conversions thet you could own. I ran a 28 for 10 years and absolutely loved the reliability of the set up. It tragically met it's end in a flame out on a reverse wingover at the top of the circle with nowhere to run to. Split the case and dinged the cylinder. Tragic. I rebuilt it but haven't used it since. a 4 oz tank with a 10/6 on the 20 or I have even on occassion used an 11/7 on the 28 for shock value will run forever. Sorry I don't remember the rpm numbers for the props that I ran but it is over 20 years and my memory is not that sharp.
