Status: offline 		See you are here Mr Cox Oct 9th is Lief Ericson day here the USA ,and almost unknown here he was here on North American shores 500 years prior to Columbus, really have not figured out Columbus Day ,it is not correct from a standpoint of History, my mother is of Danish descent martin

Status: offline 		Yes, the vikings were travelling a lot, in open boats, and knew how to navigate using the stars, true sailors.

Columbus on the otherhand thought that he was in India, talk about missoriented...
It is all about marketing though, then as now I guess.

It was the Irishman Saint Brendan who first voyaged to America 500 years before Ericson's supposed visit.
