Status: offline 		Hi everyone Iam building a tiger moth 120 and using A dle 20cc engine my problem is the muffler exaust tube is to short to go thur the cowling by about 2 inches is there away to add a piece of hose on the exaust pipe the wont melt are should I just cut a large hole in the cowl and hope the exaust goes thru what would you all do( also no room for a wrap around muffler do to where the ignition box is located on the fire wall) michael

Status: offline 		I use heater hose from the auto store with a hose clamp. Could also use the silicone types for glow engines.

Status: offline 		Mc Master Carr carries silicone and teflon tubing that will work fine. Suggest you drill and tap the exhaust stinger at the end for 4-40 button head screws. Put a couple 1/8" button heads on it and then slide the tube over them and secure with a tie wrap

Status: offline 		I use a thin coat of the same silicone I use to seal the muffler to the exhaust port and a couple of small sheet metal screws installed 180 degrees apart. It's never come off or loosened to date!

Status: offline 		I tried using high temp silicon hose but the gas exhaust fumes kept eatting into the silicon and splitting it. I now use a rubber radiator hose from the auto parts store. It already had a couple of 45 degree bends in it and is a snug firt on the end of the stinger with a plastic tie for good measure. I am running a DLE20 with the noisey stock canister muffler, but the hose extension has quietened it down alot.
