Status: offline 		This plane has a aileron servo for each one and was thinking of running one wire to #1  and other to #6 on rx.  Stick plane by the way.   Now if I do that when removing the wing for  transport have to disconnect two servo wires and hate to do that.   Is there a connector for this ?  like two plugs in and two out going to receiver?  If not then either a "Y" harness or work with two wires.  Just wondering.    gphil

Status: offline 		I use 6" extension connector off the receiver and put a black cable tie on the port aileron on either side of the aileron jumper and a white cable tie on the starboard.  That way I just have to connect black to black and white to white and all is well for simple two-servo setups.

Status: offline 		I use two extensions on my spektrum receivers with a piece of tape on one set (wire coming from aileron and its associated extension from the receiver) so they get plugged in correctly right and left. Y-Harness doesnt matter.. either can go in either.

You have just discoverd the down side to using each aileron servo in a different channel. Yes you can Y both ailerons servos and only plug to one channel to simplify assembly/disassembly. On some airplanes I do use a channel for each aileron and on others which have many other things going on, some up to five plugs that need to be plugged each time I often will run the ailerons on only one channel to reduce the chores at assembly time.

Status: offline 		I leave in two short extensions in my RX for the ailerons and paint a gold dot for the right one on the extension and servo lead. It's the only extensions you will ever see in any of my planes.

Status: offline 		You can use a 3S1P Lixx balance plug.
In essence you need 4 wires, +, -, and 2 signal wires.
Rewire the two servo wires to one plug.
Make a harness with the other plug and 2 servo plugs.
This way you only plug one wire in.
I have done this with a wing that has ailerons and flaps.
I used one plug for ailerons and one for flaps.
I could have gone to a 4S1P or 5S1P and used one plug.
It is a nice clean installation.

Now the down sides.
A lot of extra work now and minimal time savings later.
If you need to change out a servo a lot of extra work.

Status: offline 		I fix a small cable tie on each pair of wires that need to connect together. Leave the other pair without.

Tried Dymo labels but they just come off.

On planes with a lot of servos in the wing I use computer "D" connnectors

                   If you are careful and use a very fine pick you can disassemble the black
connectors and use a blue or red connector for one side.
I found these at Hansen Hobbies, they work great and their service is excellent.

Status: offline 		Kurt,if you  are talking to me,  no I don't hate this hobby.  Look , I am a senior and I have met tons of good people in this hobby many I have talked with over the phone never have even met them.   Do not know where you came up with the HATE  description.   Asking questions and gleaning information is what it is all about I thought.   Sorry to offended you for sure.   Guess I am going to have to go on and worry you for I intend to carry on.  Despite eveything this is one of the best media I have come across for giving information and  people just seem to enjoy doing it.   You have a wonderfiul weekend.     gphil

I think it’s a little harsh to say you should get out of the hobby if you hate disconnecting a wire, but that is where Kurt’s reply came from.

I do the same as many others. Six inch extensions stay in the receiver and colored zip ties on the extensions and servo leads tell me which is which.

I am not crazy about assembly/disassembly either but cannot avoid it with most 40 and 60 size planes. I cannot see well enough to fly models small enough to stay assembled all the time.

Misunderstanding for sure,  by no means do I hate this hobby was only a figure of speach.  Your idea is a logical one and some things you have to put up with,   ie  wires.   Hate crashing too but sitll love it.   gphil
