Panther F and Bowlman,
Thanks for the compliments.

Been sick most of the week and only got the 400 speed motors mounted. I seem to have misplaced my 10 tooth pinionsand put 12 tooth on instead which meant enlarging one screw hole and the center hole. Next will be updating the exhaust and adding tools.

Let us know how those 400's turn out and if they are fairly quiet too.

OK I've been going crazy and worried about Joe couple days trying to get as much info for him as possible for when I could get a hold of him. He has access to food now and is much happier about that, he's not happy about how long the power will be out. I know if I work on something he'll call! And half way through this installment guess what??? He calls-murphy's Law right....aahh the things you'll do for your business partner and friend

OK back to work in a much better mood I made up the bits for the late exhaust and installed them. Then scrounged my surplus sprues for various pioneer tools and glued down the tools in likely locations. Late Panthers and Jagd Panthers had tools moved to the rear so I did the same with this tank.

Looks good Mike!!!. I am wondering if you should remove the small muffler next to the main exhaust? I know it was done away with when the Panzer IV J had the auxiliary turret traverse motor removed in favor of carrying more fuel. Not saying you have to because I know this is a paper panzer. It may have been needed for the heaver Schmalturm?

Maus,

I wondered what that was now I know I think I'll leave it in due to the Schmalturm.

I added some lines in the front for interlocking armor but they don't show up in pics so no picies this time
Also put some more putty in areas that needed it

Thanks Herman,

It'll add some contrast to the Stug and my Panzer IV ausf H.

I added the electronics and did programming to the lower hull part. Still need to add a connector to the turret elevation motor , but I'm going to run it a bit to see how it does first. Also hogged out the battery box a bit for clearance. Seems my larger 5000 batteries don't fit in the HL battery box hence the crude hole!

A couple things I had happen. Adding the sloped styrene to the upper hull made it very rigid , so rigid it doesn't twist at all. I tried twisting it to the point I thought it would brake the glue bonds .  This will help the rest of the hull when re assembled.

The other thing is a safety item. I originally soldered the on off switch with the feed from the battery to the center terminal of the HL switch, that's a big NO NO, put that wire on the outside terminal. I didn't get it soldered well enough and it came loose shorting out against the negative post The next thing I smelled was an awful cooking wires smell and the battery got so hot I couldn't  touch it. In all of about 10 seconds! NOT GOOD. I disconnected the battery and put it outside for a couple house to cool, don't want a house fire and I've seen the result of one of these shorting out, they will catch fire just a heads up for all of you. Luckily no damage or fire

any way a few more picies

Finally got some time to work on this last weekend. After a couple tries at a paint mixture I'm happy with the base coat. Let's see if anyone can figure out what I'm up to with the color. Herman your excluded because you already know.

Looks cool.  By the color I would guess it's a Highway Dept. tank.

That was funny although I'm deprived of sleep right now. New job that requires 12 hour days and 7 days a week changing 4x4 truck transmissions but its better than unenjoyment.

Here's a hint think red southern clay

OK we got the program at work finished and they sent us home early so having a night off I got back after this one and added some color. In the pics it looks gray but it is Tamiya's German green.

OK now I need some help. Since this tank never really equisted I've decided to make it a tribute to Phil Pflueger. My question for all of you is should the tanks number be the month and year of his birth or death?

It's the Yellow undercoat that is effecting the Camo Green, or your camera is having trouble balancing the two colors? Still looks cool !!!!

I would use Phil's Birthday.

OK the birthday votes have it by a margin of 5 to 1, I know only 3 votes on the forum, Joe and Herman I talked to on the phone. I added a second coat of green and shot these pics upstairs and the color changed due to lighting. Also added a P to the front fender for Battle group Pflueger and a hand painted (yeah it shows but that's the way I wanted it) tribute to Phil on the back of the turret.

Sorry I don't have video capability but she runs and operates very well. Gears are quiet ( picked my best set of monkey metal gears) and she's fast. Should fit in well at Danville. That's why the orange paint, my attempt to blend in with the clay they use there. Camouflage is supposed to blend in with the location right?

Bob the sound is standard Hen Long but then this started as a budget build with pieces parts on hand.

I may add steel gear sets and EL MOD later once I have a steady job but for now she's done and awaiting the Extravaganza in the spring.
