Well I got a PM from John. He instructed me to resend the e-mails to two different email addresses. So I did a few days ago...and here I am sitting and waiting again. I'm not a huge fan of FEJ because of past quality issues but maybe it's time to take a chance. At least I know I can get in touch with them without issue. I can't believe Skymaster simply doesn't want my money.

John and Anton,

Why PM people with alternate email addresses? Why not just put one up on your website that works!!!  How do you place an order with you? I seriously tried 3 times over the span of a month before ordering from FEJ.

I'm thinking the way to order SM is to go through BVM.

Mike

In my case, i think you are correct on that Shawn :\ .. It will probably be an Airworld or Mibo kit or similar for my next jet. I know the build can sometimes be frustrating and not without changes and modifications necessary, but then at least you know its built right

Hi Shawn,

It would have been nice. I have build all Y/A jets in the days they were polyester. I just loved them and building was great. The difference was that back then i was student and worked part time. So many time to kill in between. Nowadays life is too fast and everything must happen yesterday.

I still have Y/A twin (epoxy) lying silently for one day i put my building cap on. I just do not see how it will happen. Cause once you started - it must finish or parts will get missing over the years and it take up a lot of space.

i take my hat off to those who still do it. Modeller, builder and flyer. Lost generation i think soon.

I am still confused by this. The jets were are buying as arfs are fiberglass. It is not realistic to expect people to build molds and plugs in my opinion. Do you agree? If not I would love to hear your thoughts as I really want to built my own jets but what is involved is FAR beyong building from a kit.

Maybe I mis understood you? Are saying a kit is a pre-built fuse and wings and I glue in formers etc like the yellow aircraft you sell? Are those the kits your refere to? To me those are arfs.

Building a jet would be making molds and plugs and going that route, way too much work.

Hi,

What I mean is that it seems like a few years back, ARF's were an option for those jet guys who didn't want to build. These days, it seems like kits are a RARE option to ARF's. For some, the idea of hoping your jet is built correctly at the factory or designed correctly (so the stabs don't flutter and blow off); maybe more people will exercise the option of building their own jets out of kits.

I'm right there with the hatred...at least I was. The first FEJ jet I had was crap. Plain and simple. But from many accounts they are improving and I have to admit their customer service is pretty darn good. They some how magically managed to create an e-mail address that works! (Sarcasm). My Skymaster e-mails are bouncing back again. How many more e-mail addresses am I supposed to try?????

I don't hate them anymore. Have two models from them that are pretty decent. See, you can capture your audience again if you improve your message. FEJ has.

Ok John and Anton,

I have forwarded all of the e-mails I've sent about purchasing a jet. This is the third time forwarding. Hopefully you guys can get back to me as I'm pretty much ready to jump ship at this point.

Shawn I have no time whatsoever to build kits. Even building an ARF is very restricted as I work in the oil patch most of the year. I have often wanted to purchase from Yellow Aircraft but the amount of work to get your kits done is staggering and way beyond my ability. I can't paint worth anything so unless the aircraft is fully painted and ready to be assembled, I have to move on. I've wanted one of your twin F-18's since the very first time I've seen it but no way I can invest that amount of time.

well, the skymasterjets@hotmail.com has been working ..

I came to an agreement with SM on the problems I have had with my fuse thats not laid up correctly. Instead of shipping the fuselage for over $500 to get repaired , matched and then get shipped back, im just getting a 50% off discount on having a new fuselage ( and rudder to match the paint lining up .. ) just to get shipped.

Though i have had issues, Skymaster has always been willing to work them out. I know there are other options out there, but when done right, the SM stuff is hard to beat. The MB339 is a solid performer. With some minor carbon reinforcements , and some additional load blocks around the gear, its structurally tough as well

this was the maiden flight on my last one .

this was its last ( ran out of fuel because of not calculating for extra drag from 4 drop tanks :\ )

I can't wait to get #2 in the air !

Paying extra to have a problem resolved is not solving a problem. You ended up paying additional to make things right.
You paid full price for a half assed kit of poor quality, and then some to fix it.

I agree it is better than nothing, but you were still pretty much shafted by SM.

+1,

Yes, how does buying another fuselage ( that you shouldn't need) at 50% off make it right?  Skymaster's undoubtably still making money on it at 50% off so, they're in a great position, you're getting the shaft.

Mike

Great deal for Skymaster!!!  Why didn't Skymaster's USA dealers get involved, even if they didn't supply the kit?  WIN/WIN for Skymaster...
