http://www.stits.com It's light, it's right (correct colors) and it stays tight.

Solartex is an easier to apply system. It requires no priming. Just choose your color, and spray !

You still get the "tex" look, but without all the hassle of other systems.

The plane in your first picture, all it needs now is a John Deeer Decal lolo, don't  take it the wrong way, it's just that I've just finished my bipe in those colors and  the rednecks around my area brought it to my attention, John Deer was the farthest thing from mind when I chose the colors.

A guy in our club is a John Deere dealer. He gave me a color coordinated hat ! LOL

The model is a 1/4 scale, IKON Cessna Airmaster. It's covered in Solartex, and painted with Rustoleum, using an automotive hardener.. Power is a G-38.

Thanks Chip,

I used to fly at LTA in Tustin and came to your house with Rich Burdick a couple of times to purchase the filler. Just retired and moved to Kalispell MT and am back into the hobby.

Thanks will order

use super coverite ! it is the easiest to work with and dont stink when applying. If you want the weave to show just prime and paint. If dont want weave to show , spray 2 coats of butarate dope/sig /primer / paint. Good luck!

Primer  Nason primer 1coat  wet sand

Dupont Full thane paint single stage paint

did this on my Dynaflight Super Cub 6 years ago!  still looks new with no cracking// looks wet with no clear coat

I'll second SolarTex.  It is my favorite covering.  I use their Natural covering and paint with Klass Kote paint.  Great combo.

Cover the plane, tack off any dust, and spray away.  No adhesion issues and great shine.  You can also get flat hardner for your warbirds.

I prime fiberglass and metal parts but the SolarTex I just spray right on the fabric.  Great adhesion, no need for primer.

I prefer full scale uncertified fabric and Randolph dope on my big rag covered planes. Get it at Aircraft Spruce and Specialty.

I have done a couple planes with Sig Koverall and Sig Butyrate dope, gives the plane a nice finish and is durable. I had sig clipped wing cub finished with it, looked as good after 20 years as the day I finished it.
