Status: offline 		Now that I know the upload of pic's can be done I'll upload some more tongiht. I have the tail secton done and the DLE-30 mounted. The lower wing is installed and I fiberglasses the engine compart area both front and back of the fire wall. The firewall was to small according to the instructions for the DLE-30 so I re-enforced it with firberglass.

Status: offline 		Nice size. I have the H9 Fokker DVII thats a slight bit smaller. Overall, the assembly looks almost identical...especially up front, but the H9 is 64.6" wingspan. That extra 4.4" will give this ECOM one a decent presence.

Status: offline 		Here are a few pics of my progress so far. The DLE-30 was a little wide with the stock muffler so I ordered the JTEC narrow muffler for this engine. I still had to grind out a small area on the fuselage for the muffler bolt on the engine to get it to fit.

Status: offline 		Last night I finished connecting the fuel tank to the DLE-30 and the elevator & Rudders are now complete. I hope to start on the upper wing assembly tonight. I think that may take a couplt of evenings so I can get it right I'll post some more pic's when I have the upper wing installed.

Status: offline 		Well I got the top wing installed and boy was it a job. Trying to get the right incedance with the supplied wing structs was harder than it looked But I got the job done. I also installed the guns and the pilot. Here are a few pic's

Status: offline 		Well I Finished the ECOMRC Fokker D-VII. This is an ARF that you will need to do some modes yourself to get it to be a strong airframe. Check all of the glue joints. I had to add 6oz of weight to the engine cowl to get it to balance at the CG point of 4 1/2". That is even with a DLE-30 in it for power. Here are a few pics of the finished D-VII.

Status: offline 		I flew mine last weekend and almost lost it. The CG is wrong and the plane flew like it was very tail heavy. I got it back on the ground with mine damage. Make sure your CG is closer to 100mm and not 114mm. The wing between the wheels needs to be at the same incidence and the lower wing on the body which is 0 degrees. Mine was positive when I flew it and with the CG being off the plane was almost out of control.

Also, what size wheels are they?

I've got a 33GT coming as well for it.

Status: offline 		The Fokker DVII only has 2 ailerons. I am sure 2 servos is all that is needed. I have 2 on my quarter scale.

Status: offline 		I flew it last Saturday and with the CG at 114mm (4 1/2") the plane was tail heavy. I was told this plane flys very well if the CG is at 100mm (4") I have added about 1lb of weight to the nose of the plane trying to get the CG at 100mm and I think I have it there now. I will give another flight report once I can get back to the field. I am agraid with the Holidays coming up and weather it may be a few weeks.

Status: offline 		I am a little frustrated with mine. Lots of mods needed at evry step, poor hardware. I would swear this was made by ESM! Same hardware and small issues at every step. I can't help but feel that we are the guinea pigs, that is was not built and tested before being sold. It will be alright in the end, I think, and I think the price is ok for what it is.

Do not use the CG in the instructions. I installed a DLE-30 in mine and still had to add 6 oz of weight to the nose to get the CG at 146mm(5.25") I almost lost it on the maiden flight. I added another 16oz of weight to the nose to get the cg at 114mm(4.5") and the plane was still tail heavy in flight. I got a post from a gut in Euorpe and he said the plane flys very well if the CG is at 100mm(4"). I am wooking on trying to get the CG at 100mm and do another flight.

Status: offline 		A scale Fokker wing has thinner airfoils as you proceed to the tip. Like a tapered wing, only this is a rectangular platform. The top of the wing is flat, creating slight dihedral in both the top and bottom wings. This is one of the most interesting aspects of the Fokker DVII and is one of the reasons it flies like it does. This creates a sort of washout as well.

I was wondering the same thing about the engine. Not only do these things like to nose over, it would be hard on plug caps inverted. Not to mention an upright install would just look better.

Status: offline 		I installed a DLE-30 that was recommended by Troy built hobbies where I bought it from. If you install the DLE-30 up right you will have to cut open the top of the cowl to make room for the spark plug and ignition cable. I thought that would just look to funny. Remember this is not a 1/4 scale plane and is smaller than the Balsa USA 1/4 scale Fokker.
