Is there such a thing as a curved velocity stack? I'd like to do what I can to reduce the intake noise on a Zenoah G-62 and a curved intake manifold won't do it as my engine has a mechanical advance. Any suggestions, or must I just make my own?

Are you suggesting the velocity stack alone will reduce the noise?  I'm thinking you need to duct it into the fuselage or add an air cleaner.

I don't know that a velocity stack itself would lower the intake noise very much, but an air filter would help.

Most people have no idea how much the intake contributes to noise with a two stroke engine. It is quite a lot. If you take a two stroke motorcycle, remove the airbox/filters, and then run it up in first gear, then shut the ignition off but leave the throttle open while the cycle slows down, the noise coming only from the carburetor(s) is amazing.

3W want $39 plus shipping for a sharp 90 degree elbow. Hmmmmm.....

10 minutes with a saw and files - hopefully it will glue satisfactorily with JB Weld.
