Status: offline 		Oh, I forgot to mention the Focke wulf TA-154 in 1/5 scale. I've yet to do a twin; other then a Dornier 335, this would be a cool build. I hope Meister's paying attention to this forum. Lots of good request.

Yes, even though this is just for fun, and I know we are shooting for the sky's (pun intended ) with our dreams, I hope Dino is encouraged by all the appreciation we have for his company and approach to modeling.

Status: offline 		The meister series is a good example of a timeless good design. Back when these planes were designed there was not many choices for models in the +100" range and the choices for engines for these planes were even rarer.
I built my first meister p-47 15 years ago and back then one of the best combos was with a quadra 100. Nowadays there are many more choices for engines and this helps keep the meister series very popular.

What would I like to see new? Meister has most of the mainstream subjects available. A twin engine warbird would be nice, and with the availability of radial and larger +100cc engines I would like to see a redesign of the corsair and spitfire into a 110" platinum type series.

Status: offline 		The Platinum 109 is on my list. I wish they would put a more scale looking airfoil on the D9 and Zero, that is the only thing that has kept me from building these. The flat bottom may fly well, but it doesn't cut it for scale looks.

Status: offline 		I have not built a Meister yet, but would love too. The thing is, with the popularity of warbirds now, It is nice to have good flying options available. There is a big difference between a Warbird and a Scale model. Many warbird pilots would rather have a good flying plane than an exact scale offering. This seems to be where Meister really shines.

Looking at the books in the registration tent at the WBOTR this year, I was excite to discover the ME 109 and FW 190 D archive that Dino puts together for his planes. I am a glutton for documentation and these books are amazing. Another feather in the cap so to speak to help me with my scale modeling. I bought the 190 D9 archive and was lucky enough to get Dino to sign it for me as well (as silly as it may sound). Honestly, this was one of the highlights for me this year. Anyone building the late model FW 190 aircraft should definately seek this publication out. It has TA 152 info as well.

I appreciate the desire for scale in some circles. I am part of that crowd. I took my Meister P-47 to this years Top Gun. However, I also love to fly, so when I can build a fighter that makes flying easier, and still turns heads for scale appearance, I feel I have the best of both worlds.

Having said that, many Meister aircraft have done very well at scale contests. My P-47 has been to three now, with one 1st place, and two 2nd place finishes. This while being an every day type flyer because it fly's so well and is so durable.

I'm proud to have our P-47 Zombie featured on the Meister web site in the 'completed model' section. She has been pictured in I think 6 domestic and 2 oversees magazines, oh, and did I mention that she is a joy to fly?

How about this line up!!! We DO love our Meister P-47s, flat bottom wing and all.

Congratulations stratosen. You will love it. Here is where that beautiful Meister wing design comes into play. Mine is all wood, lots of scale detail, and all aluminum skinned, and about 50 lbs. She flies much lighter due to the wing, and with 40 deg of flaps, lands at a nice slow speed. The tail design, moments, and wing means that the large flaps, fully deployed, do not wash out elevator, on a slow approach. You will be amazed at how slow she will fly, if you have that cahoonahs to slow down the big bird. It took me a while to realize all this. The flair is a non-event as well with that wonderful wing on task.

Dino will tell you that this P-47 will fly even better if on the heavy side. He is absolutely right. Plus, I say "cross winds? We ain't scared of no cross winds".

Status: offline 		Many, it seams, dream of a Meister twin. I agree and again, I would love a Meister P-38, but I also love the other suggestions of the Mosquito and other Japanese and German twins.

Although Meister has always been associated with fighters, the Meister approach to wing design on a 120" or larger B-25 would be an awesome addition to the line up IMO.

Just watched '633 Squadron' again. I love that movie for the Mosquito footage. Did you know that Cliford Robinson was a full scale pilot and that he tried to buy one of those Mosquito's? They wouldn't sell him one, so he bought a Spitfire instead and he fly it for many years. Very cool.

Status: offline 		I had one of the Holman 124 inch kits, and it was an awesome airplane - on the ground and in the air. Retracts could prove to be a problem if any of these kits are actually released by Meister.

BTW, I'll be building a Meister Zero this winter. It will be the 118" full wing version, Sierra gear converted to electric by Down & Locked, and a Moki 150 radial up front. Watch for the build thread here in 'Warbirds'. I'll be looking for comments and suggestions, as always.

Got to get a P-47 ready to glass, for a friend, first.

Great models, easy for building and flying...

But theme of this topic is what we want to Meister Scale produce in future. On my wish list first place is for 1/4 scale Wildcat, and on second 1/4 Bearcat...

Status: offline 		Good comments and fine choices Mirce. Both those planes would be nice additions. Especially the Bearcat could benefit from the Meister type wing design. The other nice thing about these two is that I believe the gear already exists for both of them in 1/4 scale.
