Hi, Most LiPo batteries like to be charged a 1C so in your case that would be under 1 amp. .610 to be more accurate. Most charges will not let you really pick .610 of an amp but, most will do 100ma increments. So I would chose .6 on the charger in BALANCE mode for a 3S battery 11.1V which will end up on the balancer at 4.20vdc x 3 fully charged or 12.6V total don’t let the battery get under 3.3V or ~70% below its capacity of .610
Another words, if when charging this battery your charger puts in more than 427ma you are draining the battery to low and risk damaging the cells of this battery.
Have fun
Bob Scrip

Would .610 be the highest amp I could go.Would 1.2 amps be to much?

 Hi,

I looked up your battery. Rhino 610 and according to the hobby king web site it says it can be charged @ 2C which means 2X.610 or 1.220amps.
So yes you can charge at 1.2A

Keep in mind that this is not true for all LiPo's and charging a LiPo to fast could make it but into flmes.

Also batteries that are chargered at more than 1C tend not to balance at well but that is easily fixed by charging it at 1C rate again or hooking it up to a balancer.

Bob

Ok Thanks Bob I charged them at .6 but they took like 40 minutes each to charge I will try 1.2 and see what kind of times I come up with when I fly the foamy tomorrow.I do charge them in balance mode.

40mins to an hour is considered normal that's why I have several chargers and several batteries.

When I fly my extreme flight 78 inch extra 300 I use 2 4400 5S 40C batteries for each flight.

So I have 10 batteries and 6 chargers in the mix

 Hi,
No the time stays the same because you are charging @ 1C so the charger is putting out more current.

All charging should take about the same time. When charging at rate.

The only time it takes longer is when the charger being used can not put out the 1C rate.

Example: I use some 5800ma 6S batteries, which means the charger has to putout 5.8AMPS at 25.2Vdc so since your input voltage is generally around 12V the charger has to make up the differance and to do that it needs more current. More then double, so, we need 5.8 for charging, plus the higher voltage which is double the input voltage whicH doubles the current so we need 11.6Amps plus what the charger needs to run , starts to add up quick.

Bob
