With the district season coming to a end, the Bear Mountain Flyers Club, played host to the season ending championship finals. We had 2 days, of great weather, with a light breeze and
temperatures in the upper 70's and 80's and blue skies

With a total of 29 pilots, Jon and Dale did a great job CD'ed a great championship finals. Jon started the day with a 8;30 am pilots meeting, with wheels up at 9:00, with the first day ending
around 5:00 at evening.

With Sunday running the same as the day before, with us ending around 2;00 pm, I would like to thank Jon, Dale and the Bear Mountain Flyer Club for hosting such a great event.

Thanks for posting all the pics Jarvis. It was a fun contest and the weather was perfect! It's really hard to beat flying at the Bear Mountain field in those kind of conditions. Thanks to everyone for a fantastic weekend.

I had a great time at a well run contest!! Like Steve said, if there is better weather for a contest, I don't know what it is. Looking forward to 2013 and making a few more contests!!

Was a lot of fun and some great flying. I was shocked to see the great flying in sportsman and intermediate when I judged them the 5th round. Some really great pilots there. Thank you Jon and Dale. Thanks Peter and Randy for doing the scoring. Ran very smoothly.

I would also personally like to thank Chris Moon and F3A Unlimited/ BJ Craft/ and Airtronics. Without you all this wouldn't have been possible for me. It's been a real honor to be involved with such great companies. I can't thank you enough! But know that you are really appreciated!

Robert,

Great flying. You are a great pilot! Look forward to seeing what you can do in Advanced and beyond!

As for Vic, he's been a close family friend for gosh, 20 years I think. He's family to me and I am honored that he was thought of for the pattern animal. He hasn't had a plane this year but attended all but 1 contest just to judge. That's a real pattern animal. I am shocked that Brock gave him his plane. Vic called me afterwards and sounded excited like a school kid. Brock, thank you for that. You couldn't have given it to someone who will appreciate it more. I will get him in the air soon. I am sure Vic moved his wife out of the bedroom so he could sleep next to it. haha.. What a nice guy..

Hi Chris,
Vic spoke with me, Robert and Peter after most had left, HE was shocked at Brock's generous gift. I hadn't met either one until this contest, it just reenforced how genuine so many of the guys are. I imagine you'll be receiving many calls from Vic as he wants all info on electric now.
(If you can come to the Lancaster Classic on 11-10 or 11 you can fly my Tiporare, it'd be great if you could make it. I'm bringing my Osiris to fly with Tony for a trim session too, I could use more help on the SD-10. Hint, hint, nudge, wink...)

I'm suffering withdrawal already! Great contest Jon wonderful to have 8 folks competing in Sportsman, sorry that only 1/2 of them were NSRCA members though!

Vic was completely blown away by the gift of Brock's airplane and I have an iCharger 208b that I'm happy to contribute to the cause of getting Vic back into the air which should do very nicely for Brock's 8s setup in the WindS, just needs a power supply.

Look forward to seeing folks at more contests next year!

Yes, they have been up on the District website. When they are posted on the NSRCA site under "Contest Results " you can dig down and see all the scores, who won each round, etc.

I'm fairly certain I e-mailed the XML files from the contest to Derek on Sunday once we'd finished the last round. It's possible it didn't make it out onto the network and is sitting in the outbox on the computer Jon, you may want to check.
