Recommend 5 cell cub C size (AA are to small to supply continuous current required for rudder)
2000<2500 NiMH (preferably NiCD if available), or LeF04.
One x HS-311 on throttle should be OK but definitely require a more powerfull servo for the rudder.
At least HS-645MG
or more expensive
HS-5645MG

Postscript:  regret having overlooked the new fully waterproof servo which are worth consideration =
Throttle
. HS-5086WP Digital Waterproof Micro Servo
Rudder
. HS-646WP High Voltage, High Torque, Analog Waterproof Servo
. HS-5646WP High Voltage, High Torque, Programmable Digital Waterproof Servo

I went to my LHS to check there servos, the highest model that they have is a HS-5485HB Standard Karbonite Digital, they said that it should do fine that they run them on giant scale planes with alot of wind resistants.

Are they worth a shot?
