Hi Pj,
Sorry on the slow reply!!! been slaving away in the W shop.

regarding the different shades, long story, but I first used Jet/gloss Black about six years ago and have developed my own technique into these different base shades of blues greys and even greens, yes allot of work I hear you say,but worth all the single masking!! it's like painting 4 planes!!!
The prep is the key,it's all got to wet & dried back ,then a going over with 4000 grit micro mesh ,then leave to vent, then polished!!!!! all this before any chrome applied!!
Once you have your chrome on,then leave for 48 hours, then I apply my special dirt wash, this also acts like a fine polishing compound!!

I'm thinking of sell a full paint kit for my chrome effect paint, but a few months off.

Best GB

Ok Had a few PMs asking on my black wash, well here are a few pics on the pylons I have just made for the P47.
The wash is an acrylic base so no staining with the oil base stuff.

YaY there he is. Nice to see you have got some bits done. I have been decorating too. Finishing off main bedroom, painting, stairway, painting, cubby under stairs dug out floor and fitted DPC before new floor went down. See it's not just you under the thumb for Xmas, we all can suffer together

No worries on the pump

Nigel

What he said I think the list is closed Graham because Richard has to give the names to the RAF to sort out access for us. I'd get hold of him ASAP if you are thinking of driving up!

As for the Mustang. Can't wait to get my teeth into that one. Do you have a scheme for it . . . . will it be silver per chance

Graham says Kansas Tornado will be ready to ship the second week of March. The plan is to take Graham's work to Toledo this year to display his craftsmanship. Here is an update on the pilot.

You can use Google Translate to convert to english.

Hi John,

Yes we went over to Barkston Warbirds yesterday, but our UK weather did not play ball 40-50 mph winds!!!! we still managed to get some photos of Kansas T out side the Hangar, she looks as if she is ready to set off on her long sortie over to you!!!.

Hi All,

It certainly was blowing well. The wind was causing the prop to windmill (it was only pushed on) so I took the picture at a slow shutter speed to give the impression the P-47 was about to go on a sortie.

Great model!

TTFN,
Neil
