Status: offline 		i like the HPI sprint 2 sport bodies better, but they arent shaft driven. Too bad the TC4 and TT01 do not include a battery pack, which the sprint 2 has, but then again, the sprint 2 is 10$-20$ more.

Status: offline 		If you still want a rwd onroad car, see if you can find an Associated RC10DS. They have been discontinued for a while but they where cool cars back in the day. You still see them for sale now and then. Do a google search and see what you come up with.

I'm using parts that I had on hand ...a used hpi super nitro chassis for the independent front suspension and a Tamiya CC-01 rear axle for the rear. Tamiya Trailer Leaf springs and a custom floor pan made of styrene to tie it together.
The link above has a lot more details. It's still a work in progress, stil have to sort out the tranny and motor mounting, full interior dash seats etc. still need to build the bumpers and rear wing to complete the body...

Status: offline 		Hey thanks for the kind words! Yes the plan is a front mounted motor and a custom mounted tranny in the trans tunnel connected to the drive shaft like the 1:1 car!
Still looking around for an inline tranny that's small enough to fit the trans tunnel...

Status: offline 		Yes it seems to make sense, putting the motor in the front. There would be more weight on the front and i suppose it would solve the handling issues people were talking about before with the RWD cars.

Status: offline 		Years ago traxxas had a real wheel drive touring car, can't rember the name tho.

The easiest way to make a great handling RWD touring car would be to use a RWD SCT with a 1/8 touring/rally car body

Status: offline 		Yep . You are right ! It's being built as a scaled model to real car primarily. However I plan to pu the battery (nimh) together with the electronics in the trunk. And if that's not enough weight to keep the wheels planted I will be adding some lead weights in there as well. The kind they use in the crawler wheels. Also thinking os building a traction bar to try to minimize wheel hop. Hah! Just like they did with the '70s muscle cars. Haha! Well we will see how that turns out! Still need to install the rear dampers, finally figured out last night how to install them as close to the 1:1 as possible.
I guess for me the fun is to build it as close to the real car and still have some functionality!

I understand the rear tracting thing but i figured more weight applied to the steering arms in the front make for a sharper turning radius with more force applied.

yep that kind to correct, but when u use weight to assist with traction. what ever it gains from one end it looses from the other.
But generally most rwd cars i know have to much traction on the front (sc10, Slash),
yes there is such think as to much traction on the front end. nothing wores than a setup that constantly oversteers and flips over

For example on my slash im now running stiffer front springs than before, and its reduced the steering & turn in. im loving it, so much eaiser to drive now

great detail work, ive been honing my painting skill with static models, but once ive got that sused im keen to get into making bit from styrene.

Status: offline 		On and off for maybe a year and a half now.... The more you use it the more you learn especially when you look at some of the work that others are doing and you try to develop techniques to accomplish various shapes. Styrene scratch building is all about replicating shapes of various components that when put together achieves the object that you are building. It requires patience and a whole lot of do overs!

Status: offline 		Yeah? Some people have a lot of problems setting gear mesh on the e10 then they blame the car.

My spur is over 5 years old not a simple problem, that's on brushless power 3900kv on 24t pinion and 4300kv on 24t pinion
