Yeah? Some people have a lot of problems setting gear mesh on the e10 then they blame the car.

My spur is over 5 years old not a simple problem, that's on brushless power 3900kv on 24t pinion and 4300kv on 24t pinion

how often you drive that car?

I used to drive my tb03 two battery packs a day, took 2 months before 1st spur gear went out. I was using 8.5t 4000kv 3s too

Doesn't have anything to do with the plastic motor mount flexing?

1. Your e10 isn't exactly stock.
2. Don't you use it for a drift car? The lower traction of drift tires reduce stress on the drive train considerably.

No. From what ive seen its from the pinion gear moving away from the spur or the gap is incorrectly set. when the mount flexes it does NOT change the gear mesh.

Yep its not stock, im running a allow motor mount, but none of the other upgrades have anything to do with the gear mesh, or gears.
Yes mine is mainly a drift car, its been run heapse if times on hpi rubber tyres(they have slightly more traction then the drift tyre lol)
Allso one would think that if it was going to fail it would with a 3900kv motor with 34t pinion. I have never seen a E10 geared that high

It's actually the other way around, I think that one is been built to resemble the real thing, but generally in RWD cars u want the weight at the back to assist with traction. that's why most RWD chassis have the motor behind the diff.

I understand the rear tracting thing but i figured more weight applied to the steering arms in the front make for a sharper turning radius with more force applied.

yep that kind to correct, but when u use weight to assist with traction. what ever it gains from one end it looses from the other.
But generally most rwd cars i know have to much traction on the front (sc10, Slash),
yes there is such think as to much traction on the front end. nothing wores than a setup that constantly oversteers and flips over

For example on my slash im now running stiffer front springs than before, and its reduced the steering & turn in. im loving it, so much eaiser to drive now

I know what you mean! I did the same to my slash.

Looks like a working design, but im not a fan of the front shocks. The electronics sound very delicate as well. I wonder if anyone has ever invented a 2wd with 4 wheel braking.

Im not a fan of the front suspension set up either but its a start. Wider rear tires would be the first thing I would upgrade. If you look up the TS2e and TS4e youll see they are reaslly close to the same chassis except for the front end (Think they are)

The non-adjustability of the chassis will only let you go so far.

You can always find turn buckles from some other brand. Hpi and Associated is where I would start to look

wow im impressed! What is your suspension setup for the rear. and will having the front suspension mounted to the front arms rather than the rear, cause it to roll a bit differently?

Rear suspension is the main spring from the tamiya tractor trailer ... Home made U bolts to attach it to the tamiya CC01 axle.

I don't anticipate any issues with the front suspension as its a HPI Super Nitro Rally front suspension and they are designed to be bolted to the front of the front arms.

These a couple of pics of my super rally's , as you can see the shocks are all mounted to the front of the arms!

I also have some dampers to install for the rear but still considering whether to use them or not, as the main spring is already pretty firm. Also because the diff housing is off center it doesn't leave much room to have the dampers mounted like in the 1:1 car.

This is how it looks now... I will try to find a pic of the 1:1 setup...

I would rather have shocks. How does the adjustability on your suspension compare?

Well although I don't think it will need it, but I can always add on the helper leafs to the main spring. Initially the leaf spring assembly came complete with 3 leaf springs per side, but it was too stiff, so I used only the main spring.
That being said, when I put the battery in the back/trunk area, the back drops around 3-5 mms. I tested it in the hallway (low carpet) and it seemed ok. I will know more when I finish building the trunk area and have the battery properly secured, only then I can give it a run outside in the backyard!

How long do you estimate this project to take start to finish and how long have you spent on it already?
