Well the Mini Ultra Stick conversion went so well Ithought I would try another one. This is the Ultra Stick 25e. It's designed for a .25 - .32 sized electric motor. I will convert it to glow using a TT Pro .36. This is giving the Mini Ultra Stick a big brother

I will try and post more detailed conversion pictures along the way. I should be able to order the rest of the needed parts this weekend.

This is a very well built ARF and should only need minimal modification for the conversion. The covering job was excellent and will not need any restretching. It also came with a second landing strut so you can put optional floats on it (floats sold seperatly). Here is the 1st few unboxing pictures.

After Dinner the first thing I needed to do was "strike through" the "E" for electric. I used what I had which was red lighting bolts.

Here is the how it came out of the box for the main "E"

I ordered the engine and all the extra extra parts needed to complete this project except the servos. I think I finally decided on what servos to get and should order them within the next few days. In the meantime I got bored and took a picture of the 25e next to his little brother.

After reading the reviews on this plane there is a mod or two that needs to be done to strengthen up a few areas. I started working on that tonight. Even though this part is inset with tabs I added a little 30 min epoxy to the  wing bolt down area just to make sure.

The TE where the wing bolts go through needed to be strengthened. I used some light plywood covered in some white monocote. Here is the underside of the Plywood piece ready to be epoxied in place alond with the wing TE with the covering cutaway to accept the epoxy.

I installed some very thin plywood strips (1 1/4" x 5 1/4" w/ corner knockout), into the side walls of the fuel tank area. I didn't do this for firewall bracing rather I accidently put an X-acto knife through the left side wall and so it needed some strengthening up - Shhhhhhh !!!!!!!!!! - don't tell anyone

Fuel tank installed and ready - It's a 200 cc tank just shy of 7 oz. if I did the math correctly. Should give me an easy 15 or 20 mins of flight time.
