Hi, im relatively new to the sport and need to begin maintaining my RCs. I would like some advice as to what goes where and how much. Any tips and advice are welcome. I have Silicone oil and Teflon gear grease from my Airsoft Tech days, can i use any of that anywhere? What specific oil (brand) do you recommend? What can i apply to the motor, bearings, shock oil, transmission, gears, etc? Thank you!

Depends on what parts you want to lube for what vehicle. Silicone oil(depends on the viscosity) is used in pretty much all oil filled shocks and many sealed diffs of 1/8 scale buggies and trucks. Again depending on the thickness, your teflon grease may be useful in greasing plastic gears in rc transmissions and diffs. Since airsoft guns are largely made of plastic, the grease for them should be safe on plastic RC car and truck gears. Not sure how well it would lubricate metal gears.

Well i run all metal Airsoft gearboxes, Silicon oil was generally used for rubber hopup units and blowback units. I normally use gear grease for bushings and bearings along with the gears in the gearbox. But since bearings are exposed in RC, i dont know whether i should grease them. And can i get some numbers for weights of oil and grease for different appilication since gears in an RC tranny go through different cycles than ones in an airsoft GB.

For wheel bearings, you want to use something that won't attract dirt.  There are a number of "dry lube" products out there (O'Donnel's) that are liquid, but dry out and leave a "dry" lubrication that won't gunk up.  Bearings that have rubber shields in them are also a good choice as they prevent dirt from getting in.

Nar that cool.

The cleaner is for cleaning inside and out side the motor

Oil is for lubricating the motors bearings after a clean

There is electric motor cleaner and nitro motor cleaner, guess what's used for what.

Lol, I know I'm a pain in the but
