recieved a roller (somewhat) lol, from a stranger than strange person, he had the rear center driveline disconnected and was runnin the front only... after scrounging the parts barrel, i found one and hooked it up... weird thing now, when the front wheels turn forward, the rear wheels turn backwards, and vice-versa..... no grinding or clicking from the diffs, but i'm sure one has to be bad... anyone else encountered this???/ Robert

sounds like the rear diff is in backwards. on a tmaxx they can be installed upside down causing exaclty what your experiencing. i Did nt think revo diff housing could be installed upside down but where theres a will (prybars, hammers, vicegrips) theres a way.

Front diff must be backwards. Make sure the word "up" on the diff case is facing up.

I don't have a Revo, but looking at the diff case, it does look like you can install it upsidedown.
When you look at the diff case, there is a "large side" into which the ring gear is placed. That large side should be opposite each other (front and rear) in relation to the the other one. The front should have it on the "passenger" or right side of the car and the rear should have it on the "driver" side or left side of the car.

Taking the transmission apart and converting it to forward only wouldn't have done anything because the output shaft is solid.....unless there is a center diff and the diff cup is being kept from rotating somehow, in which case the wheels wouldn't turn at all. If it has a center diff, there may be a broken diff gear or the diff case is separated from the ring gear, but you said you swapped out the trans.
Classic example of Occam's razor in which the line of reasoning that says the simplest answer is often correct.

Other than that, I got nuthin'. Let us know what you find out. This one is perplexing.

your on the money there buddy, it seems you CAN install it upside down..... I was'nt wearing my glasses when i did the rear, and found it WAS upside down! when i tried to fit it right side up,it would not line up,further inspection of the case (with my glasses on) revealed a burr on that ring gear indentation,it seems the joker before me installed a screw that was too long and it went into and thru the diff case... problem SOLVED dahmit, THANKS guys Robert
