Its a scale type truck.
packed dirt or pavement is fun.
Doesnt do well on grass or rough ground.
Awsome if you have any RC track to drive on.
Kinda the first real SCT truck. But they cant do what a slash/sc10 or simillar SCT truck does. Less clearance, less travel ect.

best vid ever of the tamiya f150 running:

LOL, yeh.

You noticed the difference in that SCT track vs ones we see at most hobby shops today. That track is actually closer to scale. Thus it matches the abilities of the tamiya well.

Yea, that truck is not for huge jumps, or impressive speed or power. It is kind of more akin to the actual scale capabilities of their 1:1 counterparts. A fun truck if you want pretty much total realism over bashability and flat out racing!

It's based on the Ta series chassis, very capable chassis, the buggy and this version are great on grass, sure there are bigger SCT's out there, but don't let it's sieve fool you, even the rally car version goes ok, but u really need to lift up the body with the rally car for running in grass.

There are some very fast brushless examples on YouTube, search for brushless TA02 and don't worry about what wheel/body combo they are using, it's all the same underneath.

Ive got a DF01 that I'm doing as a TA01 rally car... Can't wait to get that one finished

What scares me is, that you know what that sounds like..... lol. Back on topic, it looks like a great sc truck, but not completely good for racing competitively.

I used to work in a college PC lab I've seen, and heard, and seen ALL sorts of things coming from the computers, and had to tell students to stop... Its quite amazing what people will watch, and do in public.

Side note I've wanted the f150, but never could justify getting it as I got most the bases covered that it would fill. It would probably end up like my hornet as a shelf queen

I have a few of these trucks and they are great fun. You can do some mods to make them handle better, jump better etc but they will never be a Slash or SC10. They are also considerably smaller that the modern SCT's...

I'm a huge Tamiya fan so I say buy it and run the mess out of it.

Here are a couple of pics to the old TA-02 Pre-Runner. Same truck as the F150 but with a Toyota body.

If you are looking for scale type running and a shelf queen then you'll love the F150..
