I'm chasing up a colour scheme for a Savex F-16.

I'm reluctant to paint a scale jet in a sport jet scheme so I'm after
a 'genuine' scale colour scheme with the sport jet look.

Ideally it would be easy to see (these are small, fast little suckers) and
not too complicated.

So far I've come across the 'Ace in the hole' 30's scheme & the simple Edwards scheme.

Does anyone have references to others? - Thanks, John.

Boomer,

Just my opinion, but there really isnt a good sport paint scheme that does the airframe any favors. They all look way to busy, some downright horrible.

You may find some relief in the newer F-16 colors. They are so basic that they almost look sporty. Look up Oman, Egypt New, Iraq, Morocco. Pakistan. The amount of military emblems are minimum, and the gray tones look inherently good in it. The other benefit, no one seems to care for them so you may very well end up with a unique model. I have one painted in Morocco colors and everyone seems to like how it looks un the air.

Good luck! F-16.net is an incredible Asset of information.

David

Yep! I bought it damaged from a friend & it's painted in a tiger meet
scheme which doesn't grab me hence the repaint.

The original RCU thread is here:

http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_2729274/mpage_1/key_/tm.htm

It originally had a 44 gold in it.

Thanks for the tip on the F-16 site David, if you go there & it seems slow
it's because I'm having a look! - John.

Back from F-16.net

It's the first time I've seen pics of the F-16D .....

What have they done to this beautiful aeroplane??!!

Is this the F-16 Falcomodo, the hunch back of General Dynamics? John.

John. I hope you do a good build/setup thread on this. It might give me some ideas about putting my 44 in my L-39. Wink. Only problem is, i would have to cut a new hatch for the 44 install to also make it easter to start the turb. Good luck on your venture.

Which L-39 do you have?

Are you using the starting wand or is your starter mounted to the front of your engine?

Why I ask is the guy that sold me the F-16 flew a Savex L-39 for a while with one
of my engines using the wand starter. He made a small hinge up hatch on the side of the inlet
duct to poke the starter wand in. He did not have a large engine hatch at all.

I can get the details if you like. - John.

John. I have the CMP Pro. L-39. Now that smaller flap or the started wand would be neat. I have no inboard started. I like the lesser WT. leave all I can on the ground. Ha. I would love the details if he has some photos. Thanks John I keep us informed with some photos on your set- up. I could just as well fly my L-39 on Batts and wait for a 120 mm size F-16. I think your F-16 is more sueted for the 44 anyway.
