How do you go about aquiring a Stihl 4 mix engine? I did a lot of searching and could not find even the machine (chainsaw, weedeater etc) that they are installed in. I would love to get a hold of one of the 60 cc size to use for plane use. Any leads would be appreciated.

Keep an eye on the RCU Marketplace, Craig's list, and FeE Bay.

Be aware what Stihl's come as 4mix engines

Sooner or later one will show up.

The machines with them are very, very expensive. I will contact you with a PM. I have several of them. They are 65cc.

Here is a thread with a video of one flying. He got it from me. They are rather amazing and have about the same power as a Zenoah G-62. They are four stroke, but have no oil sump; the oil is mixed in the gas. Four stroke sound and economy, but no oil sump to worry about during inverted flight, etc.

Hi Captain,

PM me your e-mail address and I'll send you some videos of a 32cc Four Mix running on my engine stand. I also have complete service info and videos for them. They are amazingly powerful for a four stroke, and such a cool sound.... They are not all that heavy either. If I remember right, the 32cc I just mentioned didn't weigh a whole lot more than my Homelite 30cc engines.

I watched the Video of the 65cc engine that Scota has and I was impressed how much power it had flying his airplane like easy!! The sound was "neat" also.   Thanks   Capt,n

I forgot to ask...can you place 2 or 3 of the 65cc engines in-line with a side view?   Or a side view of both sides of one engine.  Thanks   Capt,n
