first time running 3s on my mrev today in a parking lot and im thinking my disappointment was due to the wrong gearing and small tires.. i went with a foam touring car tire (for max speed runs in parking lots only) pictued below ... however, while it was fast and did not flip (as they usually do) I feel as though it should have been faster. I am going to put my other tires back on, however, I was wondering what gearing and set ups you all were running for top speed on 3s..

thanks

45/32 with STD or 2.2 foams/custom foams

Your wheels are killing your top end with a 4000kv and 3s

Don't expect crazy speed, 3s on STD 50/28 with a Velineon 4000kv only gets you close to 50mph. Gearing up will get you faster, but more kv or 4s is needed for crazy fast speed. 1/10 ESC & BB are used to up kv but keep temps down, there is a 9000kv BB MERV pushing 82mph, that's fast.

ok cool... ive looked high and low for 2.2 foams and could not find them anywhere ...any ideas? also, i switch back to 2s when racing an indoor jumps course ..so would i be able to keep the 45/32 when I make the switch back to 2s OR should I put the 50/28 back in?
