I just built a trex 450 and it has a wicked tail wag during flight. It seems to get worse the higher the head speed. I can get most of it out by lowering my throttle curve and turning the gain way down in my transmitter.

This is only the 3rd heli i have set up and never had this problem before.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

Whats the distance between the ball link on the tail servo from the center of the servo horn?

Sometimes it can be too long and yo may have to reduce the amount. Most go for 8-10mm.

Also, whats the tail servo and gyro that you have on the helicopter?

    Yeah, i agree.

If you find a hole on the servo arm that lets you run the gyro gain around 70-75% at the headspead you want to run. This of coarse assumes there is nothing wrong with the servo or gyro.

The gyro is an align gp750 and the servo is an anign ds520.

I have the ball in the closest hole on the servo arm.

I am using a futaba t7c transmittier and i am not sure if i have the gain set right in the radio.

If you were to turn the gyro gain down to nothing with the transmitter would it give you a value of 0 or 50 ?

    Ah, ok.

What value is the gain on the TX when the tail wags and what value do you have to turn it down to, to stop the wag ?

If this is a helicopter that was running ok before a long lay-up, the first thing i would do is check the entire T/R assembly for super smooth movement with no tight spots.
