I just got a new charger that can measure the resistnce of each cell in my batteries. I have been charging some of my older batteries ande noticed that one or two have pretty big a difference between the cells. EX. I have a 5000 Mah 3s that has 5 Ohms on cell 1 7.4 Ohms on cell2 and 15.1 Ohms on cell 3. I think it is pretty much gone but was wondering what you would say is too much? Is there a percentage difference guidline?

Any amount is tolerable as long as all the std "lipo rules" are still followed. Specifically the rule about max temp on the worst cell. Even though 15 milliohms may be very high the pack can still be used. Varying IR generally shows up as giving balancers absolute fits during charge process first. I use plenty of packs that probably should've been retired long ago that vary in IR between cells by ten times.

One good question might be: Were you going to throw it away BEFORE you got the charger that measures IR?

I have 5 of those 5000 Mah 3 cells and that one and one other have much shorter run times on my Rustler. Also have noticed longer charge times but never made the connection befor I saw the resistance readings and started writing down amps and charge times and all. I had a bad wreck and one of the batteries split the case but still worked so I kept using it. Think now it may have swelled.

In ohms that is a large figure mine measures in milli ohms.
