I have a Futaba 6EX trans with a R606FS receiver, my question even though it has an additional channel will a R617FS receiver work with mt transmitter?

Since both of the receivers and transmitter are FASST units, it should work fine once you bind the 617 to the transmitter

Normally, most of the 2.4MHz systems will bind like receivers to the transmitters, regardless of the number of channels. I say "normally". The ones I've use will. I don't use Futaba so I am not a source of info for the Futaba systems, but, as I said, the ones I've worked with will.

When I bought my 6EX, it came with a R617FS. It bind and works great.
