Just returned from a great weekend in Somerset and we spent an enjoyable day flying at the amazing Merryfield site. Weather was to die for all weekend and we had a good smattering of jets enjoying the light winds. Jamie Cuff was again Mr BVM UK (although he did sample the UF too!) Pat Barnes only had his pseudo Jet prop out and other club members played with their Classic Flash and Habu foamie.
Its a long time since I went anywhere with one model and just flew that it was good to stick six flights on the UF...brilliant brilliant model!

Big thanks to the guys.

Dw and Ca

Don't worry about the landing...I promised him I would not mention his radio set up gaffs on his Bobcat...so I won't

Nothing wrong with the landing mate, it touched down just fine! no bounces there! was going well all weekend, was at MF again today and put more flights on the SB.

Git!
Changed the Bobcat over to DMSS on friday night and cross connected the receiver connection extension leads to the starboard wing and the elevator lead in the starboard boom! Boner!!!!! dont rush it and assume it will work! Problem fixed and succesful test flight followed.

Aside from this it was a great weekend for flying, despite the forecast leading up to it.

The start of the new year has finally brought some decent flying weather. A few of us met up at Merryfield today for a much needed kero dose! Andy 'The Captain' Aldridge brought along his Jetlegend F15/P80SE as well as his encouraging words and razor wit! I took my Hunter/140RX and Bobcat/P80SE, Alex Hudson with an Elan/P80SE, Pete Richards with his new Tornado V2/P80. Steve Fish was also there with his 140RX powered CARF Hawk.

Pete Disney and myself brought along some EDF foamy models to fly and Dizz got some good shots of my Dynam Me-262. Today was not a complete success as sadly Alex lost his Elan, on the upside i test flew Pete Richards Tornado V2 which was a total success and notched up 3 flights without fault and only a small amount of trimming.

The weather is looking good for all of this weekend so more flying is planned.

A few more pics, the weather was a little overcast but there was no rain and what little wind there was, was straight up the main runway.

The photos came out better than I expected.
Really great afternoon right up until Alex' incident............whole airfield and just the 6 of us!
Definitely get the Attacker going on Sunday, plus a couple other EDFs.  Wont be too long before the Sea Vixen will be in a flyable condition :-)

Glad to see Pete got his tornado in the air and great flying shots

Your hunter Jamie looks superb in the air.  Bet you're well chuffed with it now you've got over your test flight ebby geebies.

What was forecast to be a good day, did not turn out to be the case! but the weather was good enough to fly! Geoff White, Animal, Pete Richards, Andy Aldridge, Pete Nye and Pete Disney (who took the photos) met at Merryfield this Morning to be greeted by fog, it did clear . . . eventually!

The threat of rain stopped flying early but we still had a few flights each. CARF Hawk, Airworld Hunter, Flying Legends Hunter, MBA Tornado, Bobcat, Attacker and a few smaller edf models all saw action.

Despite the pants vis and Guinness Dog breaking my trusty Sea Fury hack, I still had a good day (as always at M'F) and great to catch up.  Let's hope the weather is better for next Saturday.
