He received it straight from DA ....They put it back to new specs.....So he will have to break it in as if it was new........

What size wire are you using for the landing gear? is it the standard BUSA Pup LG set?

Paul, are you going to have any mod drawings available for your conversion? Id like to do a Camel at 1/3 but dont feel like delving into a MR kit.

Doc,
As soon as we make a airplane that will be "worthy" to pass on to fellow modelers the we will give out our mod drawings......(I dont think Barry will mind either)

Paul, cool. Just try to post a lot of good pix as you go, as they say a picture is worth a whole lot of hangar talk.

Hey Paul,

Sorry your bird went in. She went way before her time. Any thoughts on why the cabanes failed?

Greg,
It was good to see you at the Christmas party at King Arthurs.

The tab for the cabane needed to be longer, it was too close to the end of the grain........and it pulled out.

Several upgrades will be done, the cabane mount brackets will be redesigned, all frame structure will be beefed up, will add wing structure (Upper stringer over the spars ) and put in sheer webbing,
Art suggested more bulk heads in the cockpit area.. lastly the covering will be Sig coverall (weight savings and strengh) instead of coverite.

I hoping this engine has more "low end" torque than that "bare minium" 150!

Happy Holidays,
HPA

Hi Paul,

I was actually thinking of that failure mode on my DH-2. The Proctor fittings I'm using are a little bit short, so to prevent the bolt from ever pulling through the end of the grain, I am going to wick some thin CA into the end of the strut to make it a hard composite.

It was great seeing you & the rest of the gang as well!

Merry Christmas,
Greg

I using Barrys wing to show our 1st lower wing design. The other one is the one we are using now.

We must of cut the upper 1/4 by 1/4 stringer cut out when we modified the wing rib profile.
So I cut a new one back in and the used sheer webbing. There was not a failure here but only built back in for longevity... strength...........(you will see that word alot)

Both bottom wing are framed up and the top wing is being "dry-fitted" on the board.

The top wing will have 1 piece spars and the same sheer webbing as the bottom wings...

Art,
I saved the back bone and it fits pretty good......
