Just picked this up the other day and tore it down shortly after. I also painted the new body that night. Waiting for more parts to come in at this point but here it is at mock up stage. (By the way its not a Mini 8ight, it's a Turnigy 1/16 4wd buggy)
Here's where its at so far

Still have to fab up a new chassis to fit the new body.
I have some new wheels on the way and some driveline pieces on the way.
Going to figure out electronics once I'm done with the chassis.

Wheels are here! 3Racing Florescent Pink 5-Spoke for the Mini Inferno

Now to try to find some tires for this thing. Any ideas? Wheels are 48mm x 24mm
Also decided that this will just be my mock up body and got another one coming that I will take my time and do up as nice as I can lol

what your plans to make it stronger/better?

I had the onroad (rally) version and it was fast for the cash but handled HORRIBLE. I could have messed with it but instead I just sold it. Never had a onroad flip over or have so much trouble going in a straight line.

The buggy version may be different, IDK.

With the new body, are you making a longer custom chassis?

Are you keeping the stock BL system? My motor got fairly hot on 3s.

Def going to make it better in every way that I can. My goal is to be competitive on the track. Going with a stronger aluminum bottom chassis with a carbon fiber top chassis. Plan on just running 2s (not trying to win speed records with it) with a new brushless system (haven't figured out what I doing there yet). Oh and find the happy balance between race worthy and reliable.

No I will come in well short of the cost of a Losi 8ight if I do it right lol
