One other project I'm working on, making plugs and molds. My first one is on the bench curing, and hoping that it separates cleanly, provided I got the hardener ratio right.

last time I went home, two "gently used" trainers were rescued from the rafters of my shed and brought back to the North Augusta plane shop so they could be combined to make one. I called the union, Frankentrainer! Hopefully it will serve at the local club to help prospective pilots learn to fly.

Duellist 2/60, hadnt heard that one in a long time. I've had one set aside since the group first produced them. I'll make templates when I do get around to building it. My winter will be busy with a BUNCH of maintenance on planes, engines, and general equipment. Got too far behind on all that.

In order to have something on the bench, one must first have a bench. I started this tonight after purchasing a hollow core door at lowes for $24.00. I used a tie strap to make the base perfectly square, going to finish it tomorrow night then put the Tiger 2 plans on it. Then the Stinger 40, then the Stinger 60, then the Super Chipmunk, then maybe the Stinger 120.

Camsbad,
I have shelves under mine for wood storage. Something else to think about is edge clamping. Leaving about 2" of table top or so around the perimeter gives you edge clamping ability.

Thanks for the tips Edwin, I do plan on putting a shelf under the build table, and I will come up with something for the clamps. More pics to follow.

82'' HEINKEL HE-100 ( from my own plans ) for the new DLE 55RA rear exhaust with full house. This will be a full scratch build and will be on the board for some time but this winter is the time to get it started. Original model pictured at 74'' Now enlarging to 82''.

Yes there is an airplane in the picture if you look closely. The gal is my wife ( 8 years ago ) so watch it!!!

You have good taste in ladies. Would I be far off guessing she was about 19 years old in that picture?
Nice catch on the "blue eyes", would hate to see you moved into the dog house over a "slip of the fingers"

Where to begin? Now they all aren't on my bench since it won't hold all of them at the same time, but they are in some form of construction.
1. Giant Aeromaster
2. Baby Flite Streak
3. Veco Chief
4. Tweedy Bird
5. School Boy
6. PT 20 (for daughter)
7. Ohio Pepsi Chipmunk

Just finished my first kit build - a Swaneyhouse Mojo 60.  Very simple build by you all's standards, but quite demanding compared to all of the ARFs I've assembled.  I definitely feel that I "earned" this model.

Steve Wittman's racers are the coolest! I'd like to see your Buster racer. I'm going to build Chief Oshkosh this winter. I have a Nakajima B5N, a PA-12 (highly modified SIG Cub) and DH-5 on the bench right now. Coming off are two heavily re-worked arf Fokker Drls and a 1932 Italian sailplane, the 'Balestruccio'. Going back on are some others but Bonzo really needs to see air under its wings!

Not a kit, but my plan is for this 0.40 size Bae Hawk prop jet from RCM&E in the UK. Only change I would make to the plans, is to have a clear canopy. I originally wanted to build the Goshawk designed by Funkworks, but Rene hasn't replied to any emails. Thinking of the 2010 Valley scheme.

And THAT right there is the best part of stick building vs ARF.

Well I have another one on my bench. At the swap yesterday I won a Great Planes Corsair Kit. My one dollar investment. Will build this for my grandson who is in the Marines. I have a nice 91 4 stroke looking for a home and I think it has found one.

Wow, that's an old plan!

My club has a shipping container where we throw old magazines & one I picked up had a feature on that plan.
It caught my eye, great looking model!

My building board? A Macchi 339 jet is on the board this season. And the season before that ......
And the season before that ........

Yeah, it is an old plan, it caugtht my eye too well exploring the plans section. With the generousity of some modelers on the Britsh website, I was given a pdf of the original article. It helped explain a few things which weren't on the plan, such as building the wing flat on the top surface.
