To those that have asked if I would do a build thread on the A7, I will post pics of my progress but nothing like a complete build thread.
Thanks Mike.

Added some pics of wing halves being glued together and the central braces of the wing. The completed ailerons and flaps.
Also a pic of the start of building the fuse.

On my bench is a Sig Kadet Señorita I built 20ish years ago.  I only flew it a few times before moving all over the world with the Air Force.  I have stripped all the monokote off (never did like the colors, don't know what I was thinking back then) and repaired most of the hangar and moving damage.  Today I started making the motor mount for the Power Up 25 electric motor from Headsuprc.  Planning on using my 3s 2200 lipos in parallel.  New covering is silk and dope.

Unclebuck, if you haven't already done so, now would be the perfect time to install some LEDs for a little night flying. It's a great sport plane, night ops plane and camera plane, all rolled into one. I hope you have as much fun with yours as I've had with mine!

Hmmm I haven't considered that.   I just may have to look into it.  I have never done anything with lights, any suggestions on brands or suppliers?

I think BPHobbies.com has strings that are cheap & easy to install.

eddieC is right on, BPHobbies is a good place to start looking for LED lights. There are lots of sources like Nitro Planes, but the ones in the US can ship quicker and cheaper. Here is a place to check out information about night flying planes:
http://www.rcgroups.com/night-flying-522/
They even have a thread on a Kadet Senior, which might give you some ideas. Good luck!

I have some strobes and a light set for a Heli that I may extend the cables on to fit a plane. Not sure which plane I want to light up though.   Maybe the Dewey if I get around to repairing the wing I folded.

I just started a Bridi Utter Chaos this fall. This is my fourth kit. I now understand what people mean when they say a builders kit.
You have to pay attention to what you are doing. still is a lot of fun.

Im very excited for that one. Then if theres time after a few repairs from last season, I may start on a 1/4 scale Rearwin Speedster that my buddy has for sale. Again im very exciteed for that one too. So thats my winter.

Well it became winter here in OKC last night. Thursday it was 73 and ideal for RC flying today it's 21 with a wind chill of -4F.

A humble GWS Spitfire is on the bench. For Spit boffins it is a bit amusing that this kit is a Mk IX painted like a Mk II. I'll be moding one of the radiators back to an oil cooler to get it looking just a bit more like a Mk II

Hi! Y'all: Well I've just started a Sig Kobra that will be electric. The wing is all done except for covering, just started the planning stages of the fuselage. Will have the "bash it a bit" for the motor and removable cockpit, as I don't fancy taking the wing off each time to change batteries or unplug them. I plan to use a GForce G25, e-flite 60amp esc, and e-flite 3s 3200 lipo. A few flakes of snow here today, so this project is right on time.

More Pics of my A7 Corsair prop jet build:
Framing up the fuse and set the wing on to test fit. Cutting out all the formers is a chore
but it is coming together...

Started a Dynaflite Corsair today to add to the others in the stable: F-82, P-40, P-51 and Spitfire. These kits still come available every now and then and the Corsair was purchased last spring. After building and flying a couple of 3mm foamies over the summer, it's fun to be working with balsa again. Have kept a good selection of templates for the Dynaflite kits and "someday" would like to bash out a Hawker Hurricane using a similar fun scale design.

Update: 2 Feb 2013 and the Corsair is starting to look enough like a plane to do some bench flying.

Building a new fuse for my 33% WACO YMF-5 due to a very bad landing this past spring. The fuse was a total loss. Next on the board is a Sig Wonder.

Out of this bunch, only 2 are flyable, the rest need to be completed. The P-51 is next up after I finish my 4*120, its ready for glass.  Just got the 1/2ox glass last week, and need to get another box of Zpoxy on hand, just in case.

Just finished this. I noticed someone else doing an A-7.

This is Rich Uravitch's design. It was in the January 1995 MAN. Has removable landing gear, which I may use on paved runways, otherwise on grass, it may need a hand-launch.

E-Flite Power 32 in the nose.

Will use a 3 or 4 cell Lipo, thinking around 3000 mah

11x7 prop.

She should be quite fast!

Nice!!

I would think that a higher kv motor in a similar size from perhaps scorpion would produce more rpm?
