I have a Futaba 9VHP 1024 PCM/PPM transmitter, but haven't flown helis in many years.  Can anyone give me a straight answer on whether this transmitter can fly modern helicopters?  It is currently on 50 mhz, but I'm considering purchasing a Spektrum and/or HiTec 2.4 module and Rx.  Would like to fly some of the Blade BNF series and/or some of the Align electric helicopters.

My main concern is the swashplate mixing.  The transmitter has several types of swash modes available for CCPM including 120 deg, but not 140 deg.  I've been told by Futaba that it will fly most modern helis with flybars, but not flybarless.  Not sure if the individual meant all flybarless or just Futaba's flybarless system.  I have no real desire to do 3D, inverted flying, etc.  I know I can get a newer tx relatively cheap, but I'm very attached to this unit.  Have flown airplanes with the 9VAP for many years.  Thanks in advance for any advice.

Most FBL units require you to disable CCPM mixing and just use a basic setup.

My only flybarless experience is with BeastX, and the Blade Mcpx and 130x.
They all use, in JR and Spektrum lingo, "1 servo normal" for swashplate type.
No electronic mixing.
If your Futaba has a similar swash type listed, I would think it would work for at least some FBL units.

Sounds like it should be no problem.  My 2 grandsons are getting near R/C age, and the BNF and Tx-R planes and heli's look attractive for the future.  Thanks for the info!
