Hello All,
Recently a neighbor of mine gave me an old Super Tigre .60, its in really good shape and has great compression and looks real clean, I'd love to use it to get the old engine back up in the air, there are no muffler mounts or anything like that so I presume I am going to have to use a universal type strap on muffler, I was just wondering if anyone knew of a muffler that they know for sure will work.. I am actually planning on putting this engine on a low wing RCM Funster 40 kit that I am working on getting completed. So it'll be an old model with and old engine, kind of a cool setup I think haha. Anyway I've attached a couple pictures of the motor to get any thoughts! Thanks again in advance!

Steve E.

Hi

Look for an old Semco muffler and adapter, they made them back in the day.

That was a popular motor back in the  70's.   It originally had a  baffle that covered the  exhaust port.  The baffle was connected to the  other hole in the throttle arm by a wire that went the throttle closed, it closed the exhaust port too.     I had  a couple of them back them.    Mufflers came into being necessary and there were not many mufflers availabe.  A popular muffler was the    Dubro Muffler where you added plates and washers to an extruded piece of alluminium tube.

Semco came out with a gold colored muffer that was very popular.    And then there as  Tatone brand of mufflers.   They were all   strap on.

Hi I have a KAVAN muffler with a adapter plate on mine , they can be bought from MECOA new.

The hardest muffler to find is a screw on muffler for the last of the Blue Head 60's they can sell
for more than a Engine !!!

Talking about mufflers, I saw a Webra Speed 61 muffler, NIB, go for $103.00 on Ebay the other day!! Then I found one and bought it for $45.00, I was lucky I guess. I still see the S/T 60 mufflers both V and G occasionally on Ebay, and the prices vary, sometimes high, sometimes not so high, just have to be watching.

You should still be able to find the strap on mufflers that will fit it
