I recently bought a DLE 35 that has rear exhaust & rear carb. for my 1/4 scale BUSA SPAD XIII that I have under construction. This set up should be perfect for this airplane. I have a Zenoah 38 that I had planned to put on it but I know I will have issues with carb being so close the fuselage side. Most modelers who have built the SPAD do run the 38 in it. What is your experience with the DLE 35?

Thanks
Rich

The Zenoah is going to be the most reliable and no ignition battery to fool with. Your going to need noseweight anyway, so my choice would be the 38. If you know of other modelers flying this combination, that should be your testimony right there.

It is a very light engine. I got one for a Mid West Extra 330 kit
that i'm finishing. It would take a lot of nose weight to balance.
Now i'm putting on a G45 and a small amount of nose weight.
