I don't know judging from the guy standing behind it it seems much bigger then 1/35 scale. Of course depth perception could be coming into play here, so maybe. Why have an old release at an event like this though, but at the same time if this was 1/16, why not make more noise about it.????

Hmmm

guy is standing behind the shermie, tank width looks like it isn't much more than his wrist and part foream, I would think this is 1/35th scale. Had they introduced a new sherman it would have come out with the JS2.

The M50 or 51 (whatever it's called) is the most newest release, so why not show it next to an existing kit for comparison.

Besides, I have seen enough 1/35th in the past year to know. The 1/16 HVSS tracks are not black, they are a light grey and the figure is a dead giveaway for 1/35th.

Definitely 1:35th scale...
I had the same reaction when I first saw this pic...Tamiya has finally decided to follow the right path....
But no, check the first photo showing the parts, it is the 1/35 M51 kit.

Hey, I want you to be right Dan.

I'll surely enjoy eating crow for THAT Sherman in 1/16th!

Oh well. I thought it was a break through moment for Tamiya, buy realistically it wouldn't make much marketing sense either.

Tamiya have never slipped up before they are not likely to do it now that would be very unprofessional otherwise very un-Japanese

What I mean is, Tamiya have never slipped up showing a new model that they have not yet announced as in the Sherman, people are working themselves up to a let down

I was hesitant in posting this but I will admit this topic stuck with me all day, and into the night as I had a dream about it and in that dream the speculation became truth...
... and I went on a wild selling spree just to get a few of the NEW Shermans to finish my required builds.

Now only to be wrong and see them pop up soon!
