Which 1/10 SCT would be the best out of the box (stock) for racing?  I'm just curious.  Is it one of those Losi or Team Associated things again where it's probably one of those two and nothing for HPI, Traxxas or Durango?

Modified you could make almost anything staring with anything....but this is regarding stock - out of the box racing ability.  Thanks.

What's great about a spec class is you can be competitive with just about any truck. To this day I still run a basically stock slash in both spec and stock class.

Ya...I'm trying to get some info from my local track on what is deemed "Spec SC" because they mention they have to be RTRs...well the problem with that is some come brushed...others come brushless...I'm talking 2WD SC btw...  Most of the turning though is going to be the driver skills....etc but the straightaway a more powerful yet controlled vehicle will make up a lot of time...etc and have an unfair advantage.  I just need to get more clarification on those SC Spec Class rules....otherwise I may just get my Firestorm Flux and be happy....whenever Tower gets them back in....it's ridiculous that Tower, HPI and other places are "out" of firestorm fluxes...

The losi 22 truck would be my pick, since I have the buggy and I don't have the words to describe how good it is.

Scotty – You have the right idea.

Check out the track and see what they run and what they allow to run in what class.

Around here most tracks STILL have a Spec Slash class which is 100% stock out of the box slashs. Stock tires, stocks wheels, stock motors, bodies etc. I’ve run this class for years and it’s probably the best class I’ve ever run in. The techs know their stuff and call you out on anything. I was once asked to refill my shocks as they didn’t feel the fluid was the correct weight.

There’s also another Spec class where you can run any part that was stock equipment from any RTR, brushed truck out there. Most of the time you end up SC10’s and Blitz’s with Traxxas 2075, 12T Titans and Slash tires. Pretty funny really.

The Stock SCT class is a little looser on the rules and allows the Titan 12T, Losi 550, Motors down to 19T or a 17.5 or higher Brushless combo motor. Tires are also your choice but no ribs on the front. You can also use any body you like.

I personally like these classes. There isn’t one truck that’s really any better than the others at the speed these trucks are traveling. I own an SC10, a pair of Blitzes, three Slash’s, a XXX-SCT and one Ultima. They all have the ability to be a winner on any given night and I have won and lost with each of them. Some are easier to drive than others but again, these trucks aren’t going fast so none of them are really difficult.
