Nice collection Reaper332.

Those chains on the Pershing might raise a few hackles around here though

Well not being around tanks...and just a novice who plays with models.....( what is the big no.no.. with tanks and chains ?? ) Used a lot of them when i worked in the woods years ago....and our truckers use them today to haul our milling machines and lathes..In fact we allmost insist on it with few exceptions.

BIGMIG

P.S. i would think it one was to transport one on or in something a chain here and there would be with-in reason to secure it in place. just a guess here....

Big Mig, the problem with chains is that they are made from links which are welded shut. "only as strong as the weakest link" holds especially true with towing or removing a stuck 35-60 ton tank. Experience has shown that chains are extremely dangerous to use on tanks other than securing a heavy object, immoblizing a swing arm with a broken torsion bar or a short section to use as a boarding step. Anything over 12 tons normally uses a tow cable. Tank recovery vehicles use chains to some extent but normally for wheeled vehicles and securing damaged parts. To use a chain on a tank that is strong enough to be safe, it would be so heavy and bulky that a crew could not handle it and it would add far too much weight to carry. I have seen tow cables snap, but that was generally due to improper connecting or cable being damaged. Tanks are a lot harder to handle than moving factory machines.

Ken realy nice looking tanks.

Nice Tank Collection. Are they all Tamiya? I like the King Tiger with the primer. Quick fix in the battlefield. Very COOL!

Welcome to the group. You have a very good start on our tank addiction problem, so you will fit right in.

Nice motor pool.   Welcome aboard.

Nice KT, I like the primered corner, it hints at a good story.
