I have a Tower Hobbies 224 2.4GHz 2-Channel Spread Spectrum Radio System and lost control of my 3.5 nitro Tunnel Hull doing 40mph. the technical data say it has a built in fail safe, if this is tru why did the boat keep on going until it crashed? the fail safe bring the servo to the nutral position,  is this the center of the servos travel? if so, does that mean half throttle? How do these things work and can I put a fail safe directly on the throttle even if there is a built in one on the transmitter?
I need some help here to try and clairify how and what would be the best device to protect my investment from CRASHING!!!

Someone correct me if I am wrong but you should be able to put one in the boat along with the one you have in the system. My failsafe on my system is programible so I set it to kill the the boat and then I have another on that makes the boat do circles if the programing fails.

? what is throttle servo, never heard of it. My throttle connection  plug hooks  in to the receiver with external power supply and servo for rudder. I have a Tactic tx and rx, and work supper great. I too have had this happen and not a thing you can do but watch. Many years ago i had a Hughey msc do the run away doings and put msc in a box and shelved. The other hughey items work to this day and to have shelved them incase i get bored in the winter months. I've got a fail-safe coming from Canada any day now. Have a good day!

I'm running gas the servo is for the throtle on my carb, if you are running electric you dont have one. My tower hobbies is identical to your Tactic tx and rx. if you look at the discription on the technical data it says it has a built in fail safe (BS!), maybe they owe both of us a new boat!!!

I DON'T THINK SO ON FAIL-SAFE! New boat, LOL! Chalk that remark on the wall! I have several Tactic rxs and took one and sprayed it with Corrosion-x and see if it works. I read the info you mentioned on fail-safe but i think the rx got a few drops of water and was wrapped up but water can find any way to get in and there wasn't very much water to speak of.
