Anybody out there who can tell me how they position their propellor for the best starting fireing position on a gas engine?. I set mine about 45d before the pickup and have fair to good luck with handstarts in that position. Am I missing something here?

Not that I can think of? Why?

I generally prefer something closer to 1 - 2 o'clock, but that's just me. What you're talking about should be fine. The plan is to flip that thing through it's compression stroke and get your fingers out of the way in a hurry, all the while maintaining your balance! Anything beyond that is over thinking it?
